Welcome to Sandy’s Sportfishing
Aloha and welcome to Oahu’s premier deep-sea fishing charter, Sandy’s Sportfishing. It is owned and operated by Hawaii’s own former 1st round NFL draft pick and Denver Bronco, Ashley Lelie. We are located at the beautiful Kewalo Harbor, five minutes from Waikiki and directly next to Ala Moana Beach Park.
Our Captains and crew are professional anglers and experts of Oahu’s local fishing grounds. Let us take you to where the fish are in our newly renovated comfy 46’ Viking Fishing Yacht.

Owner
Owner Ashley Lelie moved to Oahu at the age of six. He was a military brat who immediately fell in love with Hawaii’s culture and way of life. Ashley walked-on to the University of Hawaii’s football team and became the school’s highest-ever NFL draft pick (19th Denver Broncos). After a 7-year NFL career, he moved home and took to the water. Ashley has been fishing from shore his whole life and sportfishing for the last 10 years. With over 35 years of fishing experience, Ashley has the knowledge and skills to make sure that you have a memorable fishing experience on Sandy!
Boat/Gear
Sandy is a newly renovated 46’ 1985 Viking Rybovich fishing yacht that runs on twin Detroit Diesels that push out about 900 HP combined. Her spacious and clean interior is fully air-conditioned which includes two cabins and two marine heads that can accommodate 6 adults comfortably. There’s a kitchen, microwave, refrigerator, couch, and recliner in the main salon plus plenty of exterior outdoor seating. As for gear, we have all that you need! We run 130 Shimano rods and reels along with other custom set-ups for smaller game.
