FAQ

Here are some frequently asked question.
If you still have questions please feel free to contact us.
What other costs are involved besides the price of the charter?

The prices listed include everything EXCEPT the GE (General Excise) tax and Gratuity for the crew. The State of Hawaii’s GE tax is 4%. Tips are generally 15-20% and though they are not mandatory they are greatly greatly appreciated! It allows our crew to make a living doing what they love.

What amenities are included in the boat?

Our Fishing yacht has recently been renovated. We have two private bathrooms with electric heads and two staterooms with beds for those long charters that need naps. Our boat is also equipped with a full kitchen with a microwave and a refrigerator. We also have a comfy sofa and recliner in the main cabin.

Can we bring our own food & drink?

Yes. Please bring your own food & drinks for your enjoyment while you are on the water. You can bring a cooler or store stuff in our refrigerator. No food or drink will be provided for you. Alcohol is allowed but we prefer canned over bottled beverages.

What happens to the fish we caught during the charter? (Fish Policy)

Shared Charters: 2-3 lbs of servings cut from fish you caught. You are welcome to share extras with customers who didn’t catch anything. Private Charters: Up to 40lbs of whole fish or fillets for entire group on board.

Is the bait inclusive in the trip price?

YES, the lures/bait is included in the trip price. If we use bait (e.g. whole ballyhoo) on the trip, we will provide it at no extra cost.

What kind of fishing do you do?

The type of fishing we do is called trolling. We set the lines out with either plastic lures or dead bait lures (e.g. whole ballyhoo) and drive the boat at a constant speed the whole trip. This is the industry standard here in Hawaii.

Are kids allowed on the charter?

Yes! Just let us know at the time of booking how many kids are joining the trip and their ages so we can make sure that we have the children’s life vest ready to go.

What do I need to bring with me on my charter?

The sun here in Hawaii can be pretty intense so please bring sunscreen at the least. We would also recommend bringing a hat, sunglasses, and a long-sleeve shirt. If you are prone to getting seasick, please bring motion sickness medication.

Fish Policy
When dividing the catch, we start with the smallest fish first. No fish weighing over 70 lbs. will be cut into. Fish over 70 lbs. are taken to the local fish auction which helps sustain local businesses. This helps us keep our prices as affordable as possible while also helping the crew make a living. This will ensure that our crew does everything in their power to put you on fish.
What time should we arrive for our charter?

Please arrive 20-30 minutes before your trip to give yourself ample time to find parking and the boat.

Where do I park?

Kewalo Harbor has a paid parking lot which is located directly across from our pier, Pier B. It costs $1.00/hour. Please get to the harbor 30 mins. before your trip to find parking, as the parking lot can fill up quickly. When parking is full, you can park at the Ward center across the street.

What happens if I get seasick?

On a private charter, you have the option to tell us if you want to cut the trip short. But, THERE WILL BE NO REFUNDS. So we would suggest to come out of the cabin and get some fresh air to try and fight it.

On a shared charter, you will have to fight it because we will not be able to ask the other customers to cut their trip short. Please keep this in mind when booking.
